Coming from Russia or Scandinavia, woodcocks migrate as far as North Africa, some stop at the shores of the Mediterranean and nest in the mountainous scrubland of southern France. Instinctive when it comes to finding woodcocks, working dogs are especially important when entering the Sales Mountains where the Scolopax Rusticola (Eurasian woodcock) hides.
