North American wild geese (Canada goose) migrate twice a year. In autumn families of geese flock to the south, where several gaggles of a hundred or so geese with shrill cries gather together to make stopovers in fields and spend the night on rivers, lakes and ponds. Arriving before dawn to position his decoys, Alin de Pierre lies in wait for the piercing cries synonymous with the resumption of flight to try and get the five geese authorized by legislation.
